A whole load of new aspects were waiting for us at Silverstone. Not only had the car been upgraded with an adjustable front antiroll bar and adjustable droplinks, but a race steering wheel and a Hans device added to the things Shane needed to get comfortable with very quickly!
We made sure we got all the admininistration and strutineering out of the way early at this event which proved useful, as when practise qualy came around, the heavens opened and it poured down, meaning we had some time, and we didnt have to rush to get ready in the rain.
So then qualifying arrived and with a completely new track to learn, a very wet track and lots of cars spinning, we wasnt expecting much for a decent starting place, however a couple relaxed and clean laps meant Shane qualified in 20th for race one & 23rd for race two, our best yet, so we were happy.
So race one came and there was some fantastic racing by all drivers around us, Shane made some places via some plucky moves and resilient defending, but on the straights, as we expected, we lost places throughout the race, but still finished 5 places up in 15th!
Race two, nearly started off wet, but the rain showers held off and once again Shane made some plucky moves to gain some places in the early stages. However a slight mistake coming onto the hanger straight, then a concertina incident and a small tap at vale chicane, then finally a spin at village corner, all culminated in lost places, left us in 23rd at the finish.
Shane still enjoyed his battles throughout the day and again bettered his best result of the season so far...a 15th in race one.

Thanks go to out to all the family who helped at the event & the series sponsors we have.
