Silverstone was an amazing round for us in 2013...we had a best career finish of 15th despite having a completely standard car including an older & slower rev2 type engine, but the track suited us. This year, all the regular drivers have shown progress so maintaining a top 15, wasnt going to be easy, but trying for a top 10 was the regular target.

Practise wasnt ideal, there were lots of entries for this round which meant lots of car on track all trying to get two fast laps in. We got bunched up with some mid-pack runners, even though we had more speed. Lesson learnt, we get out on track earlier for better track position in future!

Qualifying in 19th, We headed for race one, the start was good and the car handled great, Shane made up 6 places in just a few laps before an accident brought out the red flags. The officials decided to restart/continue the race from last known positions rather than a full restart, so we were optimistic of making even more progress!

However, on lap one of the restart, disaster stuck and early on the Hanger Straight the gearbox went pop and the car had no drive. Luckily, shane could coast the car all the way to the pit lane and got back to the pits.

Sean at Hurley Engineering had a look for us, but without the tools, possible parts & time required before race two, the day was over for Mansbridge Racing.

Another dissappointing event for 2014, but a Toyota Original part had failed, so not something we could have avoided, and hopefully this will never have again, but also lucky that it didnt damage anything else in the drivetrain.

The final round of the championchip is at Donington, national circuit on 5th October 2014. See you there.
