So, here it is, the final MR2 Championship event of 2014. The car is back in good order and optimism was high. Qualifying was good, a couple clear laps put us in 14th for race one and 13th for race two. It even felt like we could have gone faster, had funds allowed Friday/Saturday testing.
Starting in the thick of it for race one was awesome, but a drift wide during lap two saw us drop 4 places. However during the remainder of the race we made these places back up, ending the race in 14th.
Race two started even better, we held 13th on lap one, up to 12th on lap two, then 9th on lap three and pushing! However a 3-wide endeavour into the final chicane was too optimistic and Shane decided to live another lap by taking to the gravel...however, because of the close racing in MR2's, we dropped to 15th, making just one place up to 14th before being tapped round by another driver with just one lap to go.
A dissappointing end to a lively day of racing. Some good speed and felt there could've been more.
Now we start preparing for 2015!!!
