Race Report-Round 11 & Round 12 Silverstone 23rd August 2015
Preparation for this event didnt go smoothly, a rare test day was spent time diagnosing an issue, finding the ignition leads to be at fault, something we forgot to take. After purchasing a new set off our friend at Rogue Motorsport, we were able to get a couple sessions in and found a reasonable balance considering.
Qualifying was ok, we managed to find a couple laps of space and managed to match my personal best (at that point) of 1:24.0, so qualified 13, out of 35 for race one. For reference, pole was 1:22.4, so 1.6s still to find!
Race one was in the dry, but a poor start saw us lose places to Ward & Wallis in the first lap, but losing a few more after avoiding an incident at turn one of lap two. Some hard fought racing with Asbury and Hutchins, saw a sneeky opportunistic move, gifting us 16th (14th in class) at the chequered flag.
Qualifying for race two, was dependant on fastest laps of race one. Of which we managed to achieve a new personal best of 1:23.74, pole was 1:22.23, so 1.51s off the pace, but closer!
Race two was in the wet and a general start didnt help gain or keep positions. Then there was a load of laps in a race of my own, no challenge to those in front or from people behind, until lap seven, when we caught up to the batlle for 6th-10th, where some overtakes were tried, but a mistake on lap 8 saw us drop to 11th (10th in class) until the chequered flag.
Next up is finally our home race at Snetterton. See you there.
