Rockingham
Weekend/Race Reports

Rockingham is an excellent facility for spectators and a challenging track for drivers.

Qualifying didnt go to plan, having got to assembly early we thought we would be running with the fast guys to pick up some tips, however what actually happened was we got held up by a few midpack guys. Even backing off ourselves didnt help much, allowing for just one banker lap, which left us qualifying in a disappointing 11th place start for race one.

Race One-
By not getting the most out of the car in qually, we didnt really know how to tweak the car for race one. Being too aggresive at the start, we got loads of wheelspin and lost momentum and places, although managed to make a few back, as the cars concertinered into turn 2.
After a bit of battling the race settled into a presetion, although ended by a red flag, with a car in the gravel, we finished in a respectable 9th.

Race Two-
Similar situation to race one, a poor start but managed to make a few place up here and there, mainly racing round on our own, but the last laps were the most frustrating though as the tyres had got too hot and overheated, it was difficult to even stay on the track, but with championship contender Jim Davies on the prowl, i had no chance of holding 8th. Finishing 9th after Davies made a last corner pass!

So a reasonable set of top-10 results, but still some tweaking to do and race craft to learn! The next round at Doningham is a favourite of ours despite our early season woes!...and the final race of the 2016 season...see you there!

Race one - Started 5th - Finished 9th
Race two - Started 10th - Finished 10th
